MEASURE R OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES

Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 6:00 PM
Chair Cortez called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.
The roll call found Cortez, Shelton Martin and Amos present.
Absent: Talamantes
We saluted the American Flag.
Old Business:
The minutes of the last meeting on April 25, 2018 were presented. Amos moved
and Shelton seconded to approve the minutes. The motion carried.
New Business:
The 2017/2018 4th quarter report was presented. Matt Boring of the Finance
Department was in attendance to present the report. Several questions were asked
including an inquiry about the “Unfunded Pension Liability” expenditure line, Investment
earning revenue line, SROs and position funding as well as the K9 program. The report was
accepted.
The 2017/2018 Measure R budget was presented for informational purposes.
Questions were asked, and information clarified and explained. Members of the public
present, as well as several students from Sacramento State, asked questions about
planned spending, revenue estimates and the State of California’s “quarters” versus our
fiscal quarters. New committee member, Martin asked for follow up information on the
budgeted numbers in line 6033, Uniform Allowance. The report was accepted.
Chief Sockman, Lt. Kalinowski and I were present to answer questions.
Our next regular meeting will be at 6:00 PM Wednesday, October 24th, 2018.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:30 pm.

will continue as a joint meeting of the Galt City Council and the Measure R Oversight Committee
until such time as a quorum of the Council is no longer present.
The Measure R Oversight Committee will be meeting in regular session on July 25, 2018,
at 6:00 pm. or shortly thereafter, to discuss the following items:
A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER; FLAG SALUTE
B. ROLL CALL: Cortez, Shelton, Talamantes, Martin and Amos.
C. OLD BUSINESS: Minutes-Regular Session April 25, 2018
Recommended Action: Approve the minutes as presented
D. NEW BUSINESS:
1. 2017/2018 Quarterly Report
Recommended Action: Review the report as presented
2. 2018/2019 Budget
Recommended Action: Review the report as presented
E. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Under Government Code Section 54954.3,
members of the audience may address the Committee on any item of interest
to the public or on any agenda item before or during the Committee's
consideration of the item.
