Measure R Citizens Oversight Committee

CITY OF GALT MEASURE R OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM 455 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, GALT, CALIFORNIA Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 6:00 PM Chair Cortez called the meeting to order at 6:11pm. The roll call found Cortez, Talamantes, Martin and Amos present. Shelton absent. We saluted the American Flag. Old Business: The minutes of the last meeting, October 24, 2018, were presented. Amos moved and Talamantes seconded to approve the minutes. The motion carried on a vote of 4-0. New Business: The City of Galt’s Finance Director, Claire Tyson, with the assistance of Matt Boring, Finance Manager, provided training to the committee on Measure R. Information included an overview of the tax along with roles and responsibilities of the committee, and city staff. Several clarifying questions were asked, and information was provided. The 2017/2018 Annual Report Update was provided. Director Tyson advised the committee that the city audit should be finalized shortly. Discussion ensued about having a special meeting so the committee can review the audited information and prepare for the Annual Report to City Council. The date of a special meeting is pending the review and acceptance of the audit by City Council. The 2018/2019 Second Quarter report was presented. The Committee asked clarifying questions, and information was provided and explained. The report was accepted.
