Measure R Citizens Oversight Committee

CITY OF GALT MEASURE R OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM 455 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, GALT, CALIFORNIA Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 6:00 PM Chair Cortez called the meeting to order at 6:02pm. The roll call found Cortez, Martin and Amos present. Talamantes and Shelton absent. We saluted the American Flag. Old Business: The minutes of the last meeting, January 23, 2019, were presented. Amos moved and Martin seconded to approve the minutes. The motion carried on a vote of 3-0. New Business: The City of Galt’s Finance Director, Claire Tyson, with the assistance of Matt Boring, Accounting Manager, presented the audited fiscal year (FY) 2017/2018 financial data required for the Annual Report along with a draft Annual Report for the Committee’s review. Along with the financial data, the Annual Report shall include the meeting dates and member attendance records. Once finalized, the Annual Report will be placed on the City Council agenda, and the members will be notified of the meeting date. The FY 2018/2019 Third Quarter report was presented. The Committee asked clarifying questions, and information was provided and explained. The report was accepted. Finance Director Tyson presented a copy of the Police Chief’s Council Agenda Report, including the resolution, regarding the purchase of Police Department Vehicles as it pertains to the use of some Measure R funds. Three vehicles currently in the fleet, purchased from Measure R, are being replaced, by Measure R. Six more vehicles are being purchased using funds other than Measure R. Oral Communications: None Comments by Committee: Measure R Meeting of April 24, 2019 PAGE 2 Committee thanked staff for the presentations, Amos added that she believes the Measure R funds are being used as the original committee had intended. Martin was happy to see the officers were going to have new vehicles. Chair Cortez added that he is happy to see K9s, patrol cars and motor officers being deployed.
