MINUTES
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Council Chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt, California
Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 4:00 pm
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by the Mayor. Council Members present: Farmer, Sandhu, Campion,
Lozano and Lampson.
Staff members present: Interim City Manager Haglund, City Clerk Settles, Interim City Attorney Hood, Community
Development Director Erias, Finance Director Tyson, Parks & Recreation Director Solis, Police Chief Sockman
and Public Works Director Selling. Absent: Human Resources Director Hall
PUBLIC COMMENTS: The City Clerk announced that members of the public could address the City Council on
non-agenda items. She stated no discussion or action could be taken on any item that was not listed on the agenda.
The Clerk advised the location of the speaker cards, asked that speaker cards be presented to the Clerk prior to
addressing City Council and that each person would have a five-minute time limit to speak. She said those who
wished to speak on any item scheduled on the agenda would be given an opportunity to do so at the time that item
was being considered.
Bonnie Rodriguez, Galt District Chamber of Commerce, complained about the commercial solid waste rates.
Mel Shamblen, Comfort Inn and Suites, asked City Council to revisit the commercial solid waste rates.
Cara Morris, Galt District Chamber of Commerce, said businesses would go out of business due to the commercial
solid waste rates.
Ray Patel complained about the commercial solid waste rates.
DEPARTMENTAL:
1. SUBJECT: Budget Workshop.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive the presentation and provide direction regarding budget.
Tyson gave the presentation.
There being no further business to come before City Council, the Mayor adjourned the meeting at 6:20 pm.

A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER:
Roll Call: Farmer, Sandhu, Campion, Lozano and Lampson.
B. PUBLIC COMMENT: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the
City Council on non-agenda items. The public comments section is for the City Council to receive
comments; except for brief responses to questions, no discussion or action may be taken on any item that
is not listed on the agenda. Please limit comments to a maximum of five minutes. Speaker cards are located
on the table inside the entrances to the council chambers. Once completed, forward the speaker card to the
Clerk. Those persons wishing to speak on any item scheduled on the agenda will be given an opportunity
to do so at the time that item is being considered.
C. DEPARTMENTAL:
