CITY OF GALT MINUTES SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING Council Chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt, California Tuesday, January 28, 2025 This meeting of the Galt City Council was conducted in person. City Council Members and City staff attended in person in the Council Chambers. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Council Members present: Sandhu, Reed, Rodriguez, Farmer. Absent: Pratton. Staff members present: Interim City Manager Erias, City Clerk Hubert, Interim City Attorney Splendorio, and Police Chief Kalinowski. PUBLIC COMMENTS - CLOSED SESSION: Gale Webber opposed the placement. Phyllis Johnson opposed the placement. Marilyn Rolland opposed the placement. Lynn Ray opposed the placement. Genette Japhet opposed the placement. Aimee Hunt opposed the placement. Becky Roenspie opposed the placement. Michaela Johnson opposed the placement. Paul Nadarisay opposed the placement. David Darchuk opposed the placement. Jolene Metcalf-Koyoma opposed the placement. Priscilla Lucero opposed the placement. Terri Kohnke opposed the placement. George Kirbyson opposed the placement. Rebecca Sloan opposed the placement. CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE: 1. SUBJECT: Proposed Placement of Sexually Violent Predator in Unincorporated Area of Galt. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the Mayor to sign a letter on behalf of the City Council opposing the placement of a Sexual Violent Predator (SVP) in the Galt Area of Sacramento County for supervised release just outside City limits and provide further direction to staff related to the upcoming hearing on January 31, 2025, regarding the proposed SVP placement in Sacramento County. GALT CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING OF JANUARY 28, 2025 PAGE 2 Erias and Splendorio gave the report. City Council authorized the Mayor to sign a letter on behalf of the City Council opposing the placement of a sexual violent predator in the Galt Area of Sacramento County for supervised release just outside City limits.
