CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA LITTLETON CENTER, 410 CIVIC DRIVE GALT, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 2024, 6:30PM Mission Statement - Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. - Stimulate community service in Galt - Encourage family participation in building civic unity. - Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. - Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth - Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families. Icebreaker Information Item 2. City Clerk Introduction Information Item Galt City Clerk, Tina Hubert, will share the roles and responsibilities of the clerk’s office to the commission. 3. Budget Report Information Item City Clerk, Tina Hubert will present the budget/balance overview and what the usual expenses of the GYC include. 4. Commissioner’s Responsibilities Information Item Overview the purpose and importance of the GYC ordinance, bylaws, and the Brown Act. 5. Making a Motion Information Item Council member Farmer will discuss the basics of making a motion. Roseburg’s Rules of Order will be distributed as a resource. 6. Approval of minutes for the meeting of June 2024 Action Item RECOMMENDATION: Approve the minutes 7. Overview of the GYC officer positions Information Item Mentor Goerzen. will go over the positions, their jobs, commitments. 8. September scheduled meeting_________________________ ________________Action Item Consider moving September meeting since it lands on a holiday. 9.
