MINUTES OF THE GALVESTON CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-MARCH 10 , 2020 l. DECLARATION OF A QUORUM AND CALL MEETING TO ORDER a. With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 1pm Present: Chairman Nick Barbee, City Council Member Dr. Craig Brown, Trey Click, Ed Gearke, Michael Woody, Pat Jakobi, Ken Shelton, Becky Major, Kathleen DiNatale b. Review Minutes: February minutes review and accepted c. Public comment on agenda items d. Word on the Street ll. DISCUSSION a. City Flag i. Design criteria: using the criteria suggested by North American Vexillogical Association Good Flag/Bad Flag ii. Establish timeline: City Council workshop March 24th, Call for proposals May 1st, Deadine for submissions, June 1st, GCAC review submissions, Submit to Council for approval for July meeting Iii. Submission process: printable pdf for submission, submit through city website/GCAC webpage/email, 1 submission per person, no residency requirement, no age requirement, legal design release & contract lll. ACTION ITEMS a. Nick will mock-up the submission form before the March 24th City Council workshop b. Present the report on City Flag from commission to City Council at workshop IV.
