MINUTES OF THE GALVESTON CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-JULY 14TH, 2020 I. DECLARATION OF A QUORUM AND CALL MEETING TO ORDER a. With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 2:01pm Present: Chairman Nick Barbee, Trey Click, Becky Major, Pat Jakobi, Ken Shelton, Michael Woody, Kathleen DiNatale, Ed Gearke has resigned b. Review Minutes: March minutes reviewed and accepted c. Public Comment on agenda items II. DISCUSSION a. Update on Budget: due to HOT Tax decline, GCAC budget may decrease 15% b. City Flag: Nick will work with City communications to draft press release, Nick & Pat will prepare lesson plans for schools for flag submittals d. 1 % for the Arts: Discussion w/Josh Ojeda/Parks Board/ Cultural Master Plan e. Public Arts Advocacy: Pat expressed concern that GCAC was invisible, relief after today’s discussion that projects are moving forward III. NO ACTION ITEMS IV. ADJOURNMENT: 2:50pm a.
