MINUTES OF THE GALVESTON CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING-OCTOBER 13TH , 2020 l. DECLARATION OF A QUORUM AND CALL MEETING TO ORDER a. Public comment on agenda items: William Sargent and Dennis Nance offered comments on the proposed amendments To the City Ordinance Section 32-2 governing “Notices, drawings, caricatures on pavement”. ll. REPORTS a. Chair’s update: Nick Barbee 1)Call for Proposals posted for City Flag 2)Artist Grant proposal approved by council 3)Lesson plan for Schools for City Flag project: Mary Longorria 4) Term for Chair ending, request for volunteers to chair commission b.Cultural Arts Master Plan (Joshua Ojeda) 1) Comparative City Coronado Island, CA lll. DISCUSSION a. Policy on Art in Public Places: discussion & review of current city ordinance Section 32-3 governing “Notices, drawings, caricatures on pavement” and proposed amendments to ordinance.
