NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF GALVESTON, TEXAS
WHARVES AND TERMINAL FIRST LIEN REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 2024
Notice is hereby given of a telephonic public hearing to be held by the City of Galveston,
Texas (the “Issuer”) on July 18, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. Interested parties may join the
public hearing on the date and the time indicated above by dialing +1-855-282-6330 (US Toll
Free) and, when prompted, entering the meeting code 2662 004 5335#.
The hearing is regarding the issuance of obligations by the Issuer, which may be issued
pursuant to a plan of finance in one or more series, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed
$160,000,000 (the “Bonds”). The Bonds will be issued as exempt facility bonds for docks and
wharves pursuant to section 142(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the
“Code”). Proceeds of the Bonds will finance port improvements (collectively, the “Projects”)
located at or near Piers 16-18 at the Port of Galveston, which are located immediately north of the
intersection of 16th Street and Harborside Drive in the City of Galveston, Texas. The initial owner
of the Projects is the Issuer, and the principal user of the Projects is and will be Galveston Wharves,
which operates as a utility of the Issuer.
This is the second hearing to be held in connection with the Projects and the issuance of
the Bonds. The Issuer has determined to repost a notice with a more accurate address for the
Projects and hold a second hearing to provide interested persons an additional opportunity to
express their views with respect to the Projects and the issuance of the Bonds. The proposed
Projects and Bonds have not changed since initial notice and hearing.
All interested persons are invited to express their views with respect to the Projects and the
issuance of the Bonds. Questions or requests for additional information may be directed to Barron
Wallace, 711 Louisiana Street, Suite 2300, Houston Texas 77002, 713-221-1219. Any interested
persons unable to dial into the hearing, but who would like to express their views with respect to
the Projects and the issuance of the Bonds, may submit their views in writing to Barron Wallace
prior to the date scheduled for the hearing.
This notice is published and the above-described hearing is to be held in satisfaction of the
requirements of section 147(f) of the Code.
