Kickball – 6 Teams Played at City Park #1 on Fridays/ same teams as fall league B. Dance Recital Went well in the Ice Arena, rental after Dance Express was very happy with the set up. The rentals worked well, but we are hoping to be back in O’Leary Auditorium for 2022 Dance Recital. C. Summer Softball Tuesday – Full Thursday – Full Friday – 3 Teams 1 Coed team / 2 Men’s E team: one refund and 2 teams will rollover their deposit to fall league Sunday – 6 Teams 10 teams will begin Sunday, July 25 IV. Old Business A. Civic Rec Update Online Registration System is still being reviewed and revised at this time  B. Helen Park Update Resident brought up the “leash ordinance” and voiced concern that it should be changed to include “having control” of your pet. Mark Jacobs addressed this issue, letting the man know that it would be a city and not a Parks & Rec issue and that he would look into it. Resident also voiced concern with raising the walkway to help with flooding issues. Kate Smith also voiced this concern and mentioned raising the walkway. Brad mentioned that the walkway has been scheduled to be discussed with Hennessy and out for bid after that. V. New Business A. Ice Arena – A/C Update *Completed (running) / needs fencing around units for safety issues. Also have purchased and will be installing cameras and lights for A/C Units. The “Upright Fence Company” has quoted the job but cannot complete job until late August due to job. Brad will be looking into “Warranty” . B. Summer Camp Update Number have been going up since Week 1 C. Pantry Sponsor – Camp GC Will be sponsoring 5 children per week D. Sponsorship Packet New Packets – more professional, offering vision and values. We have expanded out advertisement offers to include not only ScoreBoard and Dasher Boards, but also Banners @fields brochure space, rink, Zamboni, T-shirts. Will be offering specials and package deals. Pricing and details will be updated before distribution. E. Kiwanis Parking Lot Update Talking to contractors and moving forward on receiving bids for the horrible condition of the parking lot. Mark Jacobs voiced concerns with the school buses using the parking lot. Dennis voiced inquiry into what the Rotary Club should donate towards the maintenance of their namesake park. Katie noted that the sidewalk needs to be expanded also. F. Program Survey Results We received 1,081 responses from the community within 48 hours when we asked the residents what they were looking for in Child, Adult, and Senior Programs. Adults: Arts & Crafts, Kickboxing, & Yoga. All these are already offered so we will be using their emails to give them information. Children Classes: Arts & Cr aft, Night Out (also already offered). Seniors: Cooking Classes (The Pantry is planning on taking up this event. Other responses and/or requests: Battle of the Bands, Bacon Run Return, Car Show, Pub Crawl, Euchre and Bingo Events in our new air conditioned Civic Arena. G. Summer Programs in Ice Arena a. Fee’s $5 for children/ $6 for adults for all drop in activities b. Weekly List Drop In Activities: Adult & Kids Basketball, Futsal, Kickball, Dodgeball, and Fowling c. Potential Rentals Waiting on A/C cost to better evaluate proper fees, but possible $100 Resident and $120 Non-Resident H. Movies in the Park a. July 10 – Raya and the Last Dragon Appx. 80 people b. Aug 14 – Croods - A New Age c. Sept. 18 – Jumanji – The Next Level I. Brochure Update Fall/Winter 2021-2022 a. Printing Cost Mixum $6,383.00 b. Postage Cost $1,284.00 c. Twice a Year J. To Do List a. Anything needing special attention? Robert – Henry Ruff walkway needs to be cleaned up. Neighbors poison ivy is in the walkway and needs to be removed.  Radio Station – Mark Jacobs – stated that the city is looking into this issue. Some work has been done to cut the grass but need to reach out to DPS and City Manager to see what the next steps would be in keeping the owner up on this. Katie – R/C Cars in Park, across from Main Pavilion, really needs to be moved. Large crowds on the weekend are kicking up a lot of dirt. This ISN’T a parks & rec event and should be discontinued by private citizens. We are offering inside activities for R/C racing in the Civic Arena starting Wed, July 21 VI. Communications & Upcoming Events A. Bathroom Soap Dispensers We have replaced (and made them all the same) at all parks due to vandalism. We have already lost 2 to vandalism. Suggestions of cameras was made, but we would need to look into cost and ability to run electricity to cameras at Bath House. Brad stated that most of the “trail camera” have been stolen also B. Grand Pals Day – July 9th 10-12pm FREE C. Thrift Shop Sidewalk Sale – July 10th ½ off everything D. Community Garden Day – July 10th 10-2pm E. Movie in the Park – July 10th Ray and the Last Dragon Appx 80 people in attendance ($20 in concessions sold during event) F. Yoga in the Park July 10th thru Aug. 28th First Class is free! G. Community Garden Day – July 10th 10-2pm H. Tech Talk with Julie – July 19th 10:30-11:30am I. Craft Night – July 27th 5:30-6:30pm $6 J. Homerun Derby – July 31st VII. Open Discussion Resident has a birch tree she would like to donate to the park. Brad took her name and number after the meeting and will be in contact with her to get DPS and Parks & Rec staff on this. Another Resident stated that we should do “something special” for the triplets who graduated from the Dance Express family this year. VIII.
