CITY OF GARDEN CITY ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS November 13 , 2018 The Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Garden City met in Special Meeting on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, 6000 Middlebelt, Garden City, Michigan. PUBLIC HEARINGS The Public Hearings were called to order at 6:35 by Chairperson May. ROLL CALL Present were Chairperson May, Commissioners , Price, King, and Richard . Absent was Commission ers Suuppi , Mason and Hamilton . Also present were McKenna Consultant Mario Ortega and Minutes Clerk Natalie Marshall-Harris . The Chair announced it was time for the Public Hearing on item ZBA #18-020, 30268 Marquette, Zoning Ordinance Variance  Mark Randazzo ,30215 Hennepin, supports the project.  Julie M, 30463 Marquette is concerned about the appearance of the privacy fence.  Marvin Steiner, Steiner and Associates, agrees to reduce height and additional landscape screening.  Pastor Luther Stanley, First Baptist Church, discussed the reason for the project.  Timothy Douglas, Deacon of First Baptist Church, helped designed the structure. The Chair announced the Public Hearing for 30268 Marquette closed at 6: 55 p.m. SPECIAL MEETING The special meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m. by Chairperson May The Chair announced it was time for public comments for items not on the agenda. McKenna Consultant Ortega gave an overview and summarized the McKenna letters dated 11/6/2018 and 9/19/18. RESOLVED: To approve the Zoning Ordinance Variance request for 30268 Marquette based upon staff findings in McKenna letters dated 11/6/2018 and 9/19/2018 as it relates to Section 154.022 ( c) (3) maximum lot coverage. AYES: Unanimous ABSENT: Commissioners Suuppi, Mason and Hamilton  18-11-006 Moved by Price; Supported by King RESOLVED: To approve the Zoning Ordinance Variance request for 30268 Marquette based upon staff findings in McKenna letters dated 11/6/2018 and 9/19/2018 as it relates to Section 154.022 ( c) (4) (a) (1) maximum permitted height.
