39 BOARD OF TRUSTEES MARCH 4, 2025 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Garden City in the County of Nassau, New York, was held at Village Hall, 351 Stewart Avenue in said Village on March 4, 2025 at 5:04 p.m. Present: Mayor Mary Carter Flanagan, Trustees Bruce J. Chester, Edward T. Finneran, Vinny Muldoon, Jessica Tai and Bruce A. Torino. Also Present: Ralph Suozzi, Village Administrator Giuseppe Giovanniello, Superintendent of Building John Borroni, Superintendent of Public Works James R. Taunton, Chief Fire Department Absent: Trustee Judy Courtney and Michele Beach Harrington (via Zoom) Attendance: Approximately 16 in person and 7 via Zoom The Village Clerk reported that due notice of this meeting had been served on each member of the Board. Mayor Flanagan called the meeting to order and opened the meeting. John Borroni and Chief Taunton presented on the DPW Transfer Station and Fire Training Facility. The first part of the presentation focused on the construction of the new Fire Department Training Facility and the need to upgrade the existing outdated training space. The new facility will provide state-of-the-art resources for first responders allowing for simulation of residential homes, retail buildings and multi-story buildings. The second part of the presentation addressed the construction of the DPW Yard Training Facility, to improve the safety and functionality of the space, allowing DPW to better serve the growing demands of the community.
