Bandstand Committee

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BANDSTAND COMMITTEE AUGUST 15, 2019 Meeting of the Bandstand Committee Commission was held in the office of the DPW 50 Manca Drive on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Members Present: Michael Zlotnik, Jason Pelavin, Donna Russo, Denise Merriam Administrative Assistant Attendees: Dean Meunier Foreman CALL TO ORDER Michael Zlotnik called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm. OPEN MEETING RECORDING ANNOUNCEMENT – any person may make a video or audio recording of an open session of a meeting, or may transmit the meeting through any medium, subject to reasonable requirements of the chair as to the number, placement and operation of equipment used so as not to interfere with the conduct of the meeting. Any person intending to make such recording shall notify the chair forthwith. All Documents referenced or used during the meeting must be submitted in duplicate to the Secretary of the Committee, pursuant to the Open Meeting and Public Records Law. All documents shall become part of the official record of the meeting. There was no one present taping the meeting. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES No minutes first meeting ORGANIZATION OF COMMITTEE Motion made by Jason Pelavin, second by Donna Russo to nominate Michael Zlotnik as Chairman of the Committee for the remainder of this season, all in favor motion passes. Two new members will be going up to City Council on September 3, 2019 for appointment. (Nancy Binder and Edward Vipond) CORRESPONDENCE City website had one comment regarding the Committee and Donna Russo will follow up on it. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: REPORTS FROM AUDITOR Motion made by Jason Pelavin second by Donna Russo to accept the financial statement, all in favor motion passes. STATUS OF FACILITIES Jason asked Dean if there was anything he would like to see at the Park. Dean stated not now we will just keep mowing and trimming area. I talked to the Mayor for seating in the banking area but not cost effective at this time. We do not have a sprinkler system at the park so the grass is a little burnt in the summer. Jason asked if anyone has asked for anything such as a sprinkler. Dean no. Donna asked if any of the older people have fallen, Mike and Dean stated they have not heard of anyone or seen anyone fall. OTHER BUSINESS Mike: asked about the Porta Potties and Signs at Park. Dean informed him that we take care of putting out porta potties and they are cleaned out every Friday unless there are extra functions at the Park then we will call to have them cleaned again. Signs are made in the Highway sign department and are automatically changed every week. Mike asked about business cards for people who have bands, not sure if anyone has any. Jason asked the Committee about shirts and Mike suggested they wait until all the Committee Members are present. Mike: At the end of the season go through the bands to see which we want back and then generate a band list. Jason: I would like to take over the City web-site, and maybe face book page keep people informed of what we are doing. Donna: will work on soliciting sponsor’s. Donna: suggested kid concert, fiddlers, etc. Maybe we could get vendors there, if they are food will have to work with the Board of Health. Suggestion made to change the lock on the bandstand door and get new keys so we can keep track of who has them. Jason will look at maybe getting a lock box. The next meeting scheduled for September 9, 2019 at 4:30 pm. Motion made by Jason Pelavin second by Donna Russo to adjourn the meeting at 5:25 pm all in favor, motion carries.
