CITYOFGARDNER OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS 95 Pleasant Street City Hall, Room 223, Gardner MA 01440-2688 Susan Byrne, MAA City Assessor Tel: 978-630-4004 sbyrne@gardner-ma.gov Fax: 978-630-4080 MEETING MINUTES Date: October 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In Attendance: Susan Byrne, City Assessor, Paulette Burns, Charles Leblanc and Lisa Targonski, Sr. Assessor Clerk Meeting convened at 10:10 a.m. Motion: Mr. Leblanc 2nd: Mrs. Burns To open Open Session, and seeing no parties present, close Open Session. All in favor. Motion: Mrs. Burns 2nd: Mr. Leblanc To approve Minutes of September 25, 2013. Ms. Byrne abstains. All in Favor. The BOA welcomes Susan Byrne as the new City Assessor and wishes her well, the BOA believes she will fit very nicely into the Assessor’s office in the City of Gardner. Status Report: Ms. Byrne provided a verbal status report from her start date, September 30, 2013 through today: BOA discussed the 58 of 8’s, these are the properties that were suppose to be exempt and received tax bills and missed the abatement deadline, the DOR recommended. Discussed ATB cases, that will be discussed further in executive session, have settled two and working with a third presently. The DOR recommendations are being reviewed presently. New Growth is being entered by Ms. Byrne, Mr. Harring and Ms. Targonski and all should be entered by Friday, as we are expecting Vision to be here on Monday. Ms. Byrne expects to BOA Meeting Page 1 of 2 complete her recap sheet and then it will be given to Calvin Brooks, City Auditor for his numbers, by the end of the week. Ms. Byrne stated to the BOA she has a great staff here, Mrs. Gochis and Ms. Targonski to work with. Mrs. Burns stated they knew that. Old Business: None New Business: Reval year for FY’15, in November we will have to go out to bid. Dick Romano, from Vision, stopped by the office this morning. Next Meeting: Wednesday, November 13, 2013 @ 10:00 a.m. Motion: Ms. Byrne 2nd: Mrs. Burns To Enter into Executive Session with the intention to return to Open Session for the purpose of adjournment.
