CITY OF GARDNER OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS 95 Pleasant Street City Hall, Room 229, Gardner MA 01440-2630 Christine Kumar Tel: 978-630-4004 City Assessor Fax: 978 630-4080 Email: ckumar@gardner-ma.gov MEETING MINUTES Date: Tuesday, August 9, 2022 @ 2:00PM, Room 229 In Attendance: Charles LeBlanc – Chairman, Paulette Burns – Member, Christine Kumar – City Assessor and Lauren Stinnett – Administrative Coordinator Meeting convened at 2:04pm Paulette made a motion to accept the minutes from April 12, 2022, as written. Seconded by Christine, 3-0, so voted. The Board reviewed and signed the July excise abatement report and reviewed the Commitment and Warrant for preliminary (1st/2nd Quarter) real estate and personal property taxes. Assessor’s Update: • All exemption applications were mailed to last year’s recipients • May, June, and June sales questionnaires were mailed to new owners • Data entry from the DOR and Vision field review, as part of the FY23 revaluation • Vacant parcels – add a visit to the history (for our cyclicals) and add a screenshot of the bird’s eye view to Vision showing it is still vacant (ongoing) • Missing photos – add photo to parcels that do not currently have one in Vision (ongoing) • Lauren continues to work on building permits, entering deeds, abutter lists, MV abatements, etc. Charles made a motion at 2:20pm to enter Executive Session, under Purpose 7 – “to comply with, or act under authority of, any general law” (G.L. c59 §60). Seconded by Paulette, 3-0, so voted. Exemptions Approved: (12) Clause 17D, (32) Clause 22A-F, (1) Clause 22C, (4) Clause 22D, (26) Clause 22E, (5) Clause 37, (7) Clause 41C, and (1) Clause 42 Charles made a motion return to open session for the purpose of adjournment at 3:08pm.
