CITY OF GARDNER MASSACHUSETTS 01440-2630 BOARD OF REGISTRARS OF VOTERS Minutes of the Meeting of August 1, 2018 The meeting of the Board of Registrars of Voters was called to order by Chairperson Darlene Morrilly at 8:00 a.m. in the Mayor’s Conference, Room 128, City Hall. Present: Registrars Patricia Darby, Mario Guay, Darlene Morrilly, and Alan Agnelli. The Chair read aloud the following: Any person may make a video or audio recording of the open session of this meeting so long as it does not interfere with the conduct of the meeting. All documents and exhibits used or referenced at this meeting shall be submitted in duplicate to the City Clerk, as they become part of the minutes of the meeting. Is there anyone present who will be recording this meeting? No one in attendance responded. 1. Minutes of Prior Meetings On a motion by Mario Guay and seconded by Patricia Darby, it was voted to accept the Minutes of the December 5, 2017 Meeting, as printed. 2. Board Reorganization Patricia Darby nominated Mario Guay for the position of Chairman for the 2018-19 Session. Darlene Morrilly seconded the nomination. It was moved and seconded to close nominations. Mario Guay was elected and assumed the Chair for the remainder of the meeting. 3. Board Appointments Assistant Registrars Darlene Morrilly moved to reappoint Calvin D. Brooks (Republican) and Neil W. Janssens (Democrat) to the positions of Assistant Registars for terms expiring April 1, 2019. Patricia Darby seconded the motion. The motion carried. Temporary Assistant Registrars Darlene Morrilly moved to appoint John Olivari and Faith Glover, employees of the City Clerk’s Office, to the positions of Temporary Assistant Registrars. Mrs. Darby seconded the motion. The motion carried. 4. 2018 State Election Plans The Board discussed and revised the State Primary and State Election schedule. On a motion by Darlene Morrilly and seconded by Patricia Darby, it was voted to adjourn at 8:35 a.m.
