CITY OF GARDNER, MASSACHUSETTS CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MAY 26, 2023 _____________________________________________________________________________________ Committee Chairman Councillor Craig Cormier called the Public Safety Committee meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. in the Council Chamber, Room 219, City Hall. Committee members Councillors Karen Hardern and Paul Tassone were also present. Also present was Mayor Michael Nicholson; Fire Chief Greg Lagoy; Board of Health Director Lauren Saunders; Police Chief Eric McAvene; Building Commissioner Thomas Zuppa; and City Clerk Titi Siriphan I. 10971 – An Ordinance to Amend the Code of the City of Gardner, Chapter 306, thereof, entitled “Alcoholic Beverages,” to add a new section 5 thereof, entitled, “Marijuana Retail Establishments” to Increase the Quota Allowed and Change the Method for Amending the Quota Allowed by the Code of the City of Gardner On a motion made by Councillor Craig Cormier and seconded by Councillor Karen Hardern, it was voted to recommend the ordinance to the City Council. II. 10991 – An Application by Gardner Ten Pins, Inc, for a Bowling Alley License located at 560 West Broadway. On a motion made by Councillor Karen Hardern and seconded by Councillor Craig Cormier, it was voted to recommend to the City Council to approve the license for Gardner Ten Pins, Inc., for a Bowling Alley License located at 560 West Broadway. III. FY2024 BUDGET MEETINGS Building Department Fire Department/Ambulance Health Department/Solid Waste Enterprise Police Department/Animal Shelter *Attached documents of the FY2023 Budget submitted by Mayor Nicholson.
