Adjourn Georgetown City Council Meeting Minutes of September 9, 2024 Page 1 of 2 Georgetown City Council Meeting September 9, 2024 6:00 pm Mayor Jenkins called the Georgetown City Council meeting to order. All members were present. After a moment of silence, Councilmember Butcher Conway led the pledge. 1. Minutes A motion was made by Councilmember Tackett and seconded by Councilmember Allen to approve the minutes from the City Council meeting, on August 26, 2024. The motion was unanimously approved. 2. Acknowledgement Receipt of Check Register Mayor Jenkins requested that council members acknowledge receipt of the check register. All acknowledged receipt. 3. GMWSS a) A purchase order to Layne Christensen Company for $20,327.00. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Allen and seconded by Councilmember Conway. The motion was unanimously approved. b) A purchase order to Kentucky Engineering Group for $111,120.00. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Wilkins Brent and seconded by Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved. c) A purchase order to Herrick Company, Inc. for $95,000.00. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Tackett and seconded by Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved. d) A purchase order to Hazen and Sawyer for $125,000.00. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Allen and seconded by Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved. 4. Chief Administrative Officer a) Resolution authorizing FAA Grant Funding for Airport Board. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Allen and seconded by Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved. b) First reading of annexation ordinance - 1432 Paynes Depot Road c) First reading of zone change ordinance - 1432 Paynes Depot Road 5. Police Department a) Resolution accepting Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Grant. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Tackett and seconded by Councilmember Butcher Conway. The motion was unanimously approved. b) Resolution authorizing application for Violence Against Women Act Grant. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by Councilmember Tackett. A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Stone and seconded by Councilmember Wilkins Brent. The motion was unanimously approved. There being no further business, Mayor Jenkins adjourned the meeting. APPROVED ______________________________ Burney Jenkins, Mayor ATTESTED BY: _________________________________ Tracie Hoffman, City Clerk-Treasurer  CITY OF GEORGETOWN RESOLUTION 24-____ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN ACCEPTING FEDERAL AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) GRANT FUNDING FOR THE GEORGETOWN-SCOTT COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN ALL RELEVANT DOCUMENTS. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Association (FAA) is administering the FY 2024 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown-Scott County Regional Airport Corporation submitted an application for the aforementioned federal funding and has been awarded funds in an amount not to exceed $861,698.00 for airport development or noise program implementation under the terms of the attached Grant Agreement; and WHEREAS, no matching funds are required by the City of Georgetown, who is signing the Grant Agreement in its capacity as a “Co-Sponsor” for the “Project Application.” NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City of Georgetown that: The Georgetown City Council does hereby ratify and adopt all statements, representations, warranties, covenants, and agreements required under the Airport Improvement Program Grant and/or Grant Agreement and does hereby accept the funds awarded. The Mayor of the City is hereby authorized and directed to sign any and all necessary documents on behalf of the City of Georgetown, and the Georgetown City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify thereto. This RESOLUTION was approved by vote of the City Council, City of Georgetown on the 13th day of September, 2024.
