Georgetown City Council Meeting
November 11, 2024
6:00 pm
Mayor Jenkins called the Georgetown City Council meeting to order. All members were
present except Councilmember Butcher Conway. After a moment of silence,
Councilmember Hambrick led the pledge.
1. Minutes
A motion was made by Councilmember Allen and seconded by Councilmember
Tackett to approve the minutes from the City Council meeting, held October 28,
2024. The motion was unanimously approved.
2. Acknowledgement Receipt of Check Register
Mayor Jenkins requested that council members acknowledge receipt of the check
register. All acknowledged receipt.
3. Executive Session
A motion to enter an Executive session was made by Councilmember Tackett and
seconded by Councilmember Hambrick at 6:17 pm. The motion was unanimously
approved.
A motion to enter regular session was made by Councilmember Tackett and
seconded by Councilmember Allen at 6:30 pm. The motion was unanimously
approved.
No action was taken during the Executive session.

a) Municipal Order – Indian Hills Storm Water Project
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Hampton and seconded by
Councilmember Wilkins Brent. The motion was unanimously approved.
b) Municipal Order – Main Street Sidewalk Project
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Tackett and seconded by
Councilmember Stone. The motion passed 6-1. Councilmember Allen voted
no.
7. Finance Department
First reading of bond ordinance.
8. Fire Department

A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Wilkins Brent and seconded
by Councilmember Tackett. The motion was unanimously approved.
9. Grant Administrator
a) Resolution – Emergency Solutions Fund – Kentucky Housing Corporation
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Allen and seconded by
Councilmember Hambrick. The motion was unanimously approved.
b) Resolution – TAP Grant – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Tackett and seconded by
Councilmember Hampton. The motion was unanimously approved.
c) Resolution – Liability Grant – Kentucky League of Cities
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Hambrick and seconded by
Councilmember Tackett. The motion was unanimously approved.
10. Police Department
a) Municipal Order – Drone as First Responder
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Showalter and seconded by
Councilmember Stone. The motion was unanimously approved.
b) Municipal Order – Axon Body Worn Camera Add-Ons
A motion for approval was made by Councilmember Stone and seconded by
Councilmember Tackett. The motion was unanimously approved.
There being no further business, Mayor Jenkins adjourned the meeting at 8:55
pm.

RESOLUTION 24-____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN COMMITTING MATCHING
FUNDS TO SCOTT COUNTY UNITED, INC.’S 2024 KENTUCKY PRODUCT
DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE APPLICATION FOR THE LANES RUN BUSINESS
PARK PHASE III PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the 2024 Kentucky Product Development Initiative (“KPDI”) program is a
statewide effort to support upgrades to industrial sites throughout the Commonwealth and
position Kentucky for continued economic growth; and
WHEREAS, KPDI applicants may seek state funding assistance for transformative site and
infrastructure improvement projects that will generate increased economic development
opportunities and job creation for Kentucky residents; and
WHEREAS, through KPDI’s competitive application process, up to two million dollars
($2,000,000.00) of funding is available to each county in the Commonwealth of Kentucky;
and
WHEREAS, Scott County United, Inc. desires to submit a grant application for one million
dollars ($1,000,000.00) of KPDI funding for the additional development of Phase III of the
Lanes Run Business Park; and
WHEREAS, in support of said grant application, Scott County Fiscal Court and the City
of Georgetown have been asked by Scott County United, Inc. to commit one hundred
thousand dollars ($100,000.00) each in matching funds to support this application; and
WHEREAS, the City has funds available in the General Fund 2024-2025 fiscal year budget
for the $100,000.00 match, and said funds will be reallocated to the Business Park Fund
via future budget amendment upon award of the KPDI grant funding and the respective
approval and/or acceptance by the Scott County Fiscal Court and Georgetown City
Council.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City of Georgetown that:
The City of Georgetown hereby expresses support for the 2024 Kentucky Product
Development Initiative (KPDI) application being submitted by Scott County United, Inc.
and hereby expresses its intent to provide matching funds in the amount of one hundred
thousand dollars ($100,000.00), provided that City Council approval shall be required prior
to the acceptance of the KPDI grant award.
This RESOLUTION was approved by vote of the City Council, City of Georgetown on the
20th day of November 2024.
