MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2024 AT 4:45 PM, MUNICIPAL BUILDING I, COMMUNITY ROOM 202, 50 E. CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, Councilmembers Chuck Bongiovanni (participated virtually), Bobbi Buchli, Yung Koprowski, Kathy Tilque, and Jim Torgeson COUNCIL ABSENT: None. STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Town Clerk Chaveli Herrera AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:46p.m. ROLL CALL Town Clerk Herrera verified a quorum was present. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Buchli, seconded by Councilmember Koprowski, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), discussion or consultation for legal advice with the Town Attorney and to consider the Town’s position and instruct the Town Attorney regarding the aqueous film-forming foam product liability litigation and litigation involving perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances. Motion carried 7-0. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING 1 A MOTION was made by Councilmember Buchli, seconded by Councilmember Koprowski, to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene in Special Meeting. Motion carried 7-0.
