MINUTES OF THE TOWN OF GILBERT FIREMEN’S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING, 8:00 A.M., DECEMBER 5, 2017, 50 EAST CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA MEMBERS PRESENT: Clerk Lisa Maxwell, Fire Chief Jim Jobusch, Fire Battalion Chief Mike Connor and Fire Captain Michael Burkhart MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Jenn Daniels, Assistant Fire Chief Rob Duggan, and Assistant Fire Chief Bob Badgett OTHERS PRESENT: Accounting Manager Tanya Wright, Assistant Town Attorney Breena Meng and Fire Captain Drew Fleger CALL TO ORDER Chief Jobusch called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. 1. MINUTES – consider approval of the minutes of the Meeting of December 15, 2016. A MOTION was made by Fire Captain Michael Burkhart , seconded by Fire Battalion Chief Mike Connor, to approve the minutes of the Meeting of December 15, 2016. Motion carried 4-0. 2. TREASURER’S REPORT – consider: a) ratifying the Budget Report for Fiscal Year 2018; and b) ratifying the Trust Fund Report for Fiscal Year 2017. Accountant Manager Tanya Wright provided the Budget Report for Fiscal Year 2018 and the Trust Fund Report for Fiscal Year 2017. A MOTION was made by Town Clerk Lisa Maxwell, seconded by Fire Battalion Chief Mike Connor, to approve the Budget Report for Fiscal Year 2018 and the Trust Fund Report for Fiscal Year 2017. Motion carried 4-0. COMMUNICATIONS Report from the Chair on current events. None. Report from members of the Board on current events. Town Clerk Maxwell reported a change in the Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) this year allows for money in the Trust Fund to be deposited in different types of accounts. Assistant Town Attorney Breena Meng said she believes ARS does allow for the money in the Trust  Fund to be transferred to the PSPRS funds when there are no longer any pensioners. She is going to research that topic.
