DDA Minutes of May 13, 2026 at Gladwin City Hall Present: Chair Jeff Zettel, Cristy Gutierrez, Joe Kreusch, Tom Mienk, Stacy Plude, City Manager Kimberly Hines Absent: George Alward, Priscilla Szerdi Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 5:27 pm by Chair Zettel. Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Chair. Public Comment: None Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Kreusch, supported by Mienk to approve the minutes from April 8, 2026. Motion approved Addition to Agenda: City manager to item 8.5 Motion made to amend agenda by Gutierrez and supported by Mienk. Motion approved Vote for Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary: Motion by Kreusch, supported by Mienk for Chair to be Zettel, Vice Chair to be Kreusch and Recording Secretary to be Kreusch. Motion approved Financials: Discussion with motion to approve warrants by Gutierrez and support by Mienk. Motion approved City Manager Update: A Memorandum packet regarding the Downtown Beautification and 250th Celebration was presented. Discussion regarding the City Garden adding flowers and creating a gathering space behind the flower garden area. Rotary will be contributing $450. Chip and Seal is being done on 650” of road on M-61 (Cedar Ave) West of Bowery. With gas tax there will be additional road funding available. The city is purchasing a root cutter. Motion made by Kreusch, supported by Gutierrez, to at allocated $10,000 to the promotion budget for the 250-year celebration. DDA Director Discussion: What does this look like and how do we move forward. Zettel proposed a sub committee consisting of Kile, Kreusch, Mienk, and Plude. Future Ideas of Record: Speed limit signs that flash, South Antler and North Arcade Street public space, potential DDA Loan Share Program. Other New Business: Discussion regarding street sweepers cleaning main street between Bowery and State. Adjourn: Motion made by Gutierrez to adjourn at 7:05 pm, supported by Kreusch. Motion approved.
