Call to Order; Roll Call; Pledge of Allegiance
President Terrance Kucera called the Administration Committee Meeting to order at 4:31 p.m.
Meet with Grantsburg School District reps regarding Community Center rental agreement for 2025
Clerk/Treasurer Meyer informed the committee she met with AD Czeck as the committee requested to discuss the
need for a divider in the community center gym and he requested to meet with the Village to discuss further. Czeck
presented three divider options; option one was $25-30,000 for a mechanical drop-down curtain, option two was
$12-15,000 for a manual curtain; and option three was $1,200 for wall-to-wall fencing. The School District would
like to explore option three as it is the most cost-effective option. President Kucera asked if more office type
dividers were looked at. The school felt the fence option was the best as it will take up less space for storage when
not in use and is lighter than other divider options for ease of moving. The committee asked the School District if
they had long-term plans for a gymnastics home, they said there was not a plan. President Kucera asked if the
school would be agreeable if the Village paid for a divider and would increase the rental fees to cover the additional
expense. Superintendent Watt indicated they would need to review any cost increase but would entertain the option.
Czeck and Watt expressed the School District’s appreciation for the Village continuing to rent to the gymnastics
program. The committee will review the divider option presented and be in contact with the School District.
No motions made.
State of WI Employment Relations Commission Petition for Election
Clerk/Treasurer Meyer informed the committee that the Village was notified that an employee requested to join the
Teamsters Union. A Stipulation for Election from the WERC was included in the committee packet for the board to
endorse or refuse to endorse the action of police officers joining the Union. Meyer further explained that if the
Village refused to endorse, the WERC would contact the full-time Village Police Officers, not to include the Police
Chief, and conduct a vote on whether they would like to join the Union. President Kucera asked how this came to
be, Officer Getts indicated she reached out to join the Union to get more legal support in case of complaints or legal
action against a Village officer as she feels officers are being targeted more nationwide.
Motion by President Kucera second by Trustee Peer to recommend the Village Board not sign the
Stipulation for Election. Trustee Java abstained. Motion carried.
Adjournment
President Kucera adjourned the meeting at 4:45 pm.
