Burnett Dairy Airport Land Lease
The committee discussed the contract expiring 12/31/2025 with Burnett Dairy Cooperative to
spread whey on the airport land located on County Road D. The previous contract was for the past
three years at a cost of $4,000 per year. The committee discussed concerns over the previous
lease period which included concerns of gopher trapping and mounds, maintenance of the access
road, and the lease’s ability to sublease to crop farmers. Featherly assured the Committee the
gophers would be taken care of now that he was aware of the Dairy’s responsibility and that he
would take a look at the entrance road and have it fixed, if needed.
Motion by Trustee Java, second by Trustee Peer, to recommend the Village Board accept the
lease as discussed to include a 3-year term and to include a 4% annual increase to the $4,000
lease. Motion carried unanimously.
