Village of Grantsburg Plan Commission Meeting Monday, May 13, 2024 The Plan Commission for the Village of Grantsburg met on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the Village Board Room, 316 S. Brad Street, Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Present: Chairman/President Terrance Kucera, Trustee Greg Peer, Members Brent Blomberg, Tyler Myers, LuAnn Ebersold Absent: Members Natalie Finch, Angie Anderson. Others present: DPW John Erickson, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Allison Longhenry, Trustee Diane Barton, Keith Anderson, Paul & Kate Sommerfeld, Alan Kortan, Anna Adams Call to Order Chairman/President Kucera called the Plan Commission meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Minutes Motion by Trustee Peer, second by Member Ebersold to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2024, Plan Commission meeting as presented. Motion passed unanimously. 5:10 p.m. Public Hearing Keith Anderson rezone request. Chairman/President Kucera called the Public Hearing to order at 5:10 p.m. C/T Meyer read the Public Hearing Notice. Chairman/President Kucera asked for anyone wishing to speak in favor of the rezone request received from Keith Anderson, owner of 617 S. Pine Street. Anderson explained he and his wife purchased the parcel which was sold as a commercial lot. A commercial business has occupied this parcel since the late 1960’s. Anderson introduced Anna Adams as a potential renter. Adams spoke saying she would like to open a hair salon at this address. Chairman/President Kucera asked for anyone wishing to speak against the request. No one spoke. The Public Hearing was closed at 5:13 p.m. Motion by Member Blomberg, second by Member Myers to recommend the Village Board approve the request received from Keith Anderson, owner of 617 S. Pine Street (parcel 07-131-2-38-19-14-3 04-000- 021100) to change the existing zoning from R-2 Single-Family Residential District (medium Density) to B-1 General Commercial District. Motion passed unanimously. 5:15 p.m. Public Hearing–Paul & Kate Sommerfeld rezone request. Chairman/President Kucera called the Public Hearing to order at 5:15 p.m. C/T Meyer read the Public Hearing Notice. Chairman/President Kucera asked for anyone wishing to speak in favor of the rezone request received from Paul & Kate Sommerfeld, owners of Lots #1 & #2, Linden Street. Paul & Kate Sommerfeld spoke indicating they will be building a home on the lots and moving to the property in the future. Chairman/President Kucera asked for anyone wishing to speak against the request. No one spoke. The Public Hearing was closed at 5:17 p.m. Motion by Member Meyers, second by Trustee Peer to recommend the Village Board approve the request received from Paul & Kate Sommerfeld, owners of Lots #1 & #2, Linden Street (parcel 07-131-2-38-19-11-5 15-085-011000 & 15-085-012000) to change the existing zoning from R-4 Multiple-Family Residential District to R-2 Single Family Residential  May 13, 2024 Plan Commission Meeting Page 2 District (Medium Density).
