Village of Grantsburg Village Board of Trustees Special Meeting Monday, May 13, 2024 The Board of Trustees for the Village of Grantsburg met on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at 300 W. Olson Drive, Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Present: President Terrance Kucera, Trustee Diane Barton, Trustee Greg Peer, Trustee Leo Janke, Trustee Hank Java Absent: Trustee John McNally, Trustee Maurice DJ Henderson, Others: DPW John Erickson, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Allison Longhenry, Gordon Lewis Call to Order President Kucera called the Special Village Board meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Clerk/Treasurer Meyer conducted roll call. Leisure & Rec Committee recommendations The pickleball group removed five trees to allow site preparation last fall. These five trees will be replaced by the pickleball group. The leisure & rec committee recommended planting one tree at the east end of the proposed location for the pickleball courts and four trees in the green space area between the campground exit road and Olson Drive. Once the court/fence placement and the area for excess parking was reviewed, the committee members were concerned with the driving area left for camping units going to their camping sites. Pickleball court layout Trustee Janke explained the previous markings for fence placement were not in the right locations. Janke went through the correct location with the Trustees. It was recommended to move the courts and fence further west toward the bathhouse to allow a larger radius for camping units making the turn on the east end of the courts. The kiosk sign showing trail information will be moved north and east of the existing site and will be turned to face the trail that goes over the dam. The parking area will be moved north. DWP Erickson will get pricing to repave the south exit road so a decision can be made on whether to do this now and will move the speed limit sign to allow camping units a wider area when exiting the campground at Olson Drive.
