City Council Meetings

City of Green River, City Council Workshop Proceedings for June 9, 2020, 6:30 pm, Council Chambers, Mayor Pete Rust called the meeting to order. The following Council Members were present: Gary Killpack, Robert Berg, Lisa Maes, and Tom Murphy. The following were present representing the City: City Administrator Reed Clevenger, Director of Finance Chris Meats, Senior Building Inspector Ken Yager, Planning & Zoning Administrator Amy Cox and Parks & Recreation Director Brad Raney. (A) Discussion on Ordinance Changes Regarding Family Child Care Homes & Centers. Amy Cox said the Development Services Department has received a request from the Bohlman’s, for an Ordinance change to be done in order to allow for a Family Child Care Center. Currently, under Section 9.2 of the land use table it is not permitted to have a Family Child Care Center in an R-1 or R-2 residential zoning district. The Bohlman’s have a Family Child Care Home which is allowed to have 3-10 children with no additional staff. A Family Child Care Center would allow for a maximum of 15 children in the home with one additional staff member. Council said they would agree to changing the Ordinance to allow for the Family Child Care Center if the Planning and Zoning Board agrees. Once the meeting with them is complete then staff was asked to proceed with changing the Ordinance. Proclamation: Women Veterans Appreciation Day. (B) Discussion on the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget. Reed Clevenger said there were no additional changes on the budget so staff will proceed with presenting it to council for approval on June 16, 2020.
