City Council Meetings

City of Green River, City Council Workshop Proceedings for March 9, 2021, 6:30 pm, in the Council Chambers, Mayor Pete Rust called the meeting to order. The following Council Members were present: Gary Killpack, Robert Berg, Sherry Bushman, Mike Shutran, George Jost and Jim Zimmerman. The following were present representing the City: City Administrator Reed Clevenger, Director of Finance Chris Meats, Director of Public Works Mark Westenskow, Assistant Fire Chief Larry Erdmann and Parks & Recreation Director Brad Raney. Presentations: (A) Disc Golf Course. The Mayor said he has received a letter from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department stating they are against the disk golf course being placed in the Scott’s Bottom area and the Greenbelt Task Force is against it as well. He said he has received many calls and the majority of people are for it but against it being placed down there. Council’s position is that they are for having a disc golf course but they do not agree on the location. He said staff would work with Mr. Doak and Mr. King to look into an alternate location. Residents Janet Hartford and John Freeman spoke against it being located at the Scott’s Bottom area. Mr. King said he believes there is a lot of confusion on what disc golf is. The comments on social media show the confusion. He said he would be happy to speak with anyone who would like more information on what it is. (B) Recreation Center Security Cameras. Chris said he has been asked about putting security cameras up at the Recreation Center. It would require policy changes in order to put cameras in any city building. The employee handbook doesn’t allow cameras. He gave a brief presentation on the costs associated with adding cameras.
