CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 2022 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular Council meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. In the absence of City Clerk – Treasurer Dee Blackmon the mayor called on Assistant City Clerk Nicki Hunt to call the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Bryan Reynolds, Ed Sims, Joseph West, Jae’Ques Brown, and Boris Thigpen. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Eddie Cook delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on February 14, 2022. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember West moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for February 14, 2022, as drafted . Councilmember Sims seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: RESOLUTION 2022-07. TO APPROVE ABC LICENSE REQUEST FOR MAX MART d/b/a 2021 FIVE PLUS INC @ 404 S. CONECUH STREET FOR OFF-PREMISE ONLY SALE OF RETAIL BEER (#050) AND OFF-PREMISE ONLY SALE OF RETAIL TABLE WINE (#070). Max Mart d/b/a 2021 Five Plus INC located at 404 S. Conecuh Street has applied for a Retail Beer (off- premises only) (050) and Retail Table Wine (off-premises only) (070). Councilmember Sims moved to adopt Resolution 2022-0 7, approving an ABC License for the Max Mart. Councilmember Reynolds seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the council. RESOLUTION 2022-08. TO APPROVE ABC LICENSE REQUEST FOR CIRCLE K STORE 2706638 d/b/a CIRCLE K STORE INC @ 1007 FORT DALE ROAD FOR OFF-PREMISE ONLY SALE OF RETAIL BEER (#050) AND OFF-PREMISE ONLY SALE OF RETAIL TABLE WINE (#070). Circle K Store 2706638 d/b/a Circle K Store INC located at 1007 Fort Dale Road has applied for a Retail Beer (off-premises only) (050) and Retail Table Wine (off-premises only) (070). Councilmember Reynolds moved to adopt Resolution 2022-08, approving an ABC License for the Circle K Store Inc. Councilmember West seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the council. APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember West made a motion to approve the following expenditures: OTTO ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS, INC. - $6,745.60 (BUDGETED ITEM) 100 TRASH CARTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS Councilmember Brown seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion passed with unanimous vote of the Council. OTHER BUSINESS: WEED AND DEBRIS VIOLATIONS: ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next council meeting will be held Monday March 14, 2022.
