Town of Greenville Work Session Minutes 8/7/24 www.greenvilleborough.com MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION MEETING OF THE TOWN OF GREENVILLE COUNCIL HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order Jean Carr, Deputy Mayor If you are a visitor to council, we ask you to please sign in at the door and turn off all cellular telephones. The public was reminded that they may be audio or video recorded during the meeting. 2. Roll Call: Paul Hamill, Mayor - Excused Jean Carr, Deputy Mayor Chad Bromley, Councilor Anne Butcher, Councilor Evan Hereford, Councilor Brian Shipley, Councilor Linda Zuschlag, Councilor Jasson W. Invocation: Rev. Brenda Martin, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Flag Salute led by Deputy Mayor Jean Carr 4. Public Comments – (3-minute time limit) Residents: Ms. Becky Savchuk, 119 East Avenue, questioned if chip sealing was fixing the streets. New Business A. Town Manager, Mr. Jasson Urey presented council with the second quarter budget update of the general, fire and storm water funds. All funds are in good standing and will continue to be monitored as the finance committee begins the 2025 budget process. Mr. Bromley left the meeting at 7:05 pm. B. Council was advised of the recommendation from the Personnel Committee to hire Donald Polley, Jr. as a Full-Time Public Works Laborer. There were no deliberations. C. Council was advised of the recommendation from the Personnel Committee to hire Nicholas Show as a Part-Time Public Works Laborer. There were no deliberations. D. Council was advised of the need to advertise for a public input hearing regarding the cable renewal on September 4, 2024, at 6:00 pm. There were no deliberations. E. Council was advised of the recommendation from the Budget and Finance Committee to set the 2024 budget preparation calendars. Councilor Shipley thanked Mr. Urey and Mr. Hetrick for the work they have done to prepare for the budgeting process and to incorporate the additional meeting dates for the Home Rule Charter requirements. 8. Due to inclimate weather conditions, the scheduled road maintenance on streets selected for chip sealing has been delayed. The temporary on-street parking ban will continue until the street has been chip sealed. Thank you for your continued patience.
