Greenwood Council Meeting
Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 6:00pm
Council Chambers
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hansen. Roll call- Nelson, Hinker, Bolf and Ashbeck all present. Also
present Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar, Utility Director Trent Johnson, Chief of Police Bernie Bock, Public Works
Director Eddie Herrick and Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth.
Old Business:
1. Discussion with Bowmans Club president Don Friemoth and Harold Dillenbeck member. Council would like
to see an agreement between the City and the Bowmans Club. Council will discuss terms of a possible
agreement at the following Council meeting.
New Business:
1. Nelson motioned to approve pay request No. 2 for Haas Sons Inc. project A portion of the Miller Street
project in the amount of $264,918.41. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
2. Ashbeck motioned to approve pay request No. 2 for Haas Sons Inc. project B portion of Miller Street project
in the amount of $56,389.41. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
3. Nelson motioned to approve the quote from Accurate Air Solutions LLC for a Makeup Air Unit for the
Treatment Plant in the amount of $19,950. Work includes Sterling Makeup Air Unit, new unit curb, duct
work, electrical, crane, removal of old equipment and labor to install. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All
ayes. Motion carried.
4. Hansen nominated Cheri Lenz to the Main Street Committee. Bolf motioned to approve the nomination.
Nelson seconded the motion. Hinker and Ashbeck opposed, Nelson and Bolf aye. Hansen broke the tie with
an aye. Motion carried.
5. Ashbeck motioned to approve the vouchers as presented. Bolf seconded the motion. Roll call vote. All ayes.
Motion carried.
6. Ashbeck motioned to approve the minutes as written. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
7. During reports Attorney Wachsmuth explained to Council the importance of not discussing or stating
opinions during public comment. Wachsmuth also noted that the survey for the Hinker land was changed
slightly. The initial survey had the property going to the middle of the Black River, revised survey has the
property boundary at the bank of the Black River. Surveyor’s error, Clerk to see who is to pay the additional
recording fee. Wachsmuth also mentioned to the Council a few revisions that are being worked on for the
annexation of parcel 010.0038.000. A few additions are needed in the informational packet for the State.
8. Nelson motioned to adjourn. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
