Greenwood Council Meeting Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 6:00pm 201 S Main St- Council Chambers The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hansen. Roll call- Nelson, Behrens, Hinker and Ashbeck all present. Also present Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar, Public Works Director Eddie Herrick, Police Chief Andrew Kohnert, Utility Director Trent Johnson and Attorney Bonnie Wachsmuth. Public Comment: 1. No Citizens present for comment. New Business: 1. Discussion with Mary Evangelista regarding dust control on E Hinker Rd. Council will have the concern brought to the finance committee to review for a possible future budget. 2. Nelson motioned to approve the creation of a Fireworks Account at Forward Bank. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 3. Nelson motioned to approve CMAR Resolution 1-25. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 4. Ashbeck motioned to approve the operators licenses as presented. Behrens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 5. Ashbeck motioned to approve the Class “A” Beer licenses for Kwik Trip#315, River Country Cooperative, and Family Dollar #30572. Behrens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 6. Nelson motioned to approve the Class “A” Liquor licenses for Kwik Trip #315, River Country Cooperative, and Family Dollar #30572. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 7. Nelson motioned to approve the Class “B” Combination licenses for Wallis Hinker Brux Post 238 American Legion, Funte’s Bar, Blue Mirror Bar & Bowl, and Chelsie’s Grill. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 8. Nelson motioned to approve the Cigarette Over the Counter Sales licenses for River Country Cooperative, Family Dollar #30572, and Kwik Trip #315. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 9. Hinker motioned to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Greenwood and the Greenwood Professional Police Association adding a starting wage of $26.30 to the current agreement as recommended by the Finance and Personnel Committees. Behrens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 10. Nelson motioned to approve a conditional offer of employment for Trey Larson recommendation from Police Chief Andrew Kohnert and the Personnel committee. Behrens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 11. Hinker motioned to approve the recommendation from Finance committee to obtain bids for a new police squad. Behrens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 12. Ashbeck motioned to approve the purchase of a new Jetter for the sewer department for $393,210 as recommended by the Finance and Public Works committees. Nelson seconded the motion. Roll call vote. All ayes. Motion carried. 13. Hinker motioned to approve placing bid requests out for blacktopping and patching as recommended by the Public Works committee. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 14. Hinker motioned to approve placing bid requests out for an overlayment of intersection of N Reese and Hunt St as recommended by the Public Works committee. Nelson seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 15. Ashbeck motioned to approve the bid from Mark Gardner for welding shop repairs as recommended by the Public Works committee. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 16. Ashbeck motioned to approve the purchase of 4 catch basins as recommended by the Public Works committee. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. 17. Nelson motioned to approve the bills and vouchers as presented. Ashbeck seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried. 18.
