Minutes of the Grosse Pointe Woods Tree Commission Meeting November 5, 2025.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lechner at 7:03 p.m.

Motion by Rennpage, seconded by G. Lechner to approve the agenda for the meeting
November 5, 2025 passed by the following vote.
Yes: 8 No: 0 Excused: 1
Motion by Madigan, seconded by Rennpage to approve the minutes for the meeting on
October 1, 2025 passed by the following vote.
Yes: 8 No: 0 Excused: 1
Treasurer’s Report:
Rennpage presented the Treasurer’s report. The Tree Commission balance stands at $942.47.
Old Business:
A. The Eastern Red Cedar trees were ordered for the Arbor Day program as decided.
B. The fall planting program was completed with 57 trees being planted. The entire
waiting list for trees was fulfilled. We were not awarded a DTE grant.
C. Skorupski expressed concern about the number of dead trees on the city easements.
Chair Lechner will again invite DPW representatives to attend our meeting and discuss
the situation.
New Business:
A. Colborn has agreed to chair the Memorial Tree Ceremony event. P. Lechner stressed the
need to have everything ready by February 15 for the April 1 event.
B. Three slogans were proposed for the Poster Contest. They are: Trees Root Our
Community; Healthy Trees, Healthy People and Trees are Terrific and Cool Our
Community. All members should email their preference to Chair Lechner.
C. A social gathering is scheduled for Tuesday December 9 at Telly’s at 7:00. Spouses are
welcome.
Council representative Michael Koester provided an update of current city business.
Motion to adjourn at 8:11 PM moved by Madigan, and seconded by Galbo, was unanimous.
