Minutes of the Grosse Pointe Woods Tree Commission Meeting April 1, 2026.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lechner at 7:03 p.m.

Motion by Rennpage, seconded by Galbo to approve the agenda for the meeting April 1, 2026
passed by the following vote.
Yes: 6 No: 0 Excused: 0
Motion by Galbo, seconded by Colborn to approve the minutes for the meeting on March 4,
2026 passed by the following vote.
Yes: 6 No: 0 Excused: 0
Treasurer’s Report:
Randy Rennpage reported that the check had been issued to pay for the Arbor Day trees.

New Business:
A. Beth Caverly and Dean Knuth attended the meeting to learn about the Commission and
to volunteer to join. Questions were asked and answered and all agreed that they
would be welcome additions to our group.
B. The tree bagging will take place at the DPW building on Thursday April 16 at 4:00 p.m.
The poster contest will be a week later than originally thought due to the timing of the
school breaks. Rennpage and Galbo will visit Star of the Sea, Mason and University
Liggett for the Arbor Day/ Poster Contest presentation. Meyering and Lechner will visit
Ferry and Monteith. Lechner will order the t-shirts for the school poster contest
winners. Presenters will deliver the poster blanks to the schools.
C. The Memorial Tree Ceremony was postponed to next year as we had only one memorial
tree and the family was unable to attend the event. Hopefully we will have a nice group
for the 2027 event.
Council representative Michael Koester provided an update of current city business.
Motion to adjourn at 8:08 PM moved by Galbo, and seconded by Colborn, was unanimous.
