MINUTES OF THE RESCHEDULED CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF GROSSE
POINTE WOODS HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2025, IN THE COUNCIL-COURTROOM
OF THE ROBERT E. NOVITKE MUNICIPAL CENTER, 20025 MACK PLAZA DR., GROSSE
POINTE WOODS, MICHIGAN.
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mayor Bryant.

Motion by Gafa, seconded by Brown, that Councilmember Granger be excused from tonight’s
meeting.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: Brown, Bryant, Gafa, Koester, McConaghy, Motschall
No: None
Absent: Granger

The Mayor asked Director of Parks and Recreation, Owen Gafa, to present the Snow Creation
Contest Awards. Director of Parks and Recreation Gafa presented the awards to the following
recipients:
Most Creative – “Summertime Dreamin’” by the Swaneck Family
Best Construction – “Fort Littlestone” by the O’Hara Family
Best Traditional – “Chilly Charlie” by the Trost Family
Motion by Brown, seconded by McConaghy, regarding Second Reading – Chapter 50 – Zoning
Ordinance Amendment: Providing a Definition of Short-Term Rentals and Regulating
Short-Term Rentals, that the City Council approve this zoning ordinance amendment as presented
and make it effective 10 days after its enactment.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: Brown, Bryant, Gafa, Koester, McConaghy, Motschall
No: None

Under New Business the following individual was heard:
Mayor Bryant read aloud a letter of appreciation from the City Council to the Grosse Pointe
Chamber Foundation Board for selecting the City of Grosse Pointe Woods as the recipient
of the Community Foundation Wilson Grant in the amount of $3,914.00. At the request
and feedback of residents, the funds will be used to purchase an all-in-one workout station
and elliptical machine for the activities center.
Under Public Comment, no one wished to be heard.
Motion by Motschall, seconded by Koester, to adjourn tonight’s meeting at 7:14 p.m. PASSED
UNANIMOUSLY.
