NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of Hackensack hereby adopts the findings of the Planning Board of the City of Hackensack as set forth in their Resolution dated September 12, 2006 and hereby delineates the properties incorporated in same as areas in need of redevelopment. Agt./Sass Muni IV DTR was the successful bidder at said public tax sale having bid the sum of $2,043,417.52 for said tax sale certificate; and WHEREAS, the successful bidder has delivered to the Tax Collector of the City of Hackensack full payment of any and all monies required under this bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. The City of Hackensack hereby confirms the sale of Tax Sale Certificate numbers 96.65, 96.66 and 96.67 to US Bank Col. Agt./Sass Muni IV DTR. . 2. The Tax Collector of the City of Hackensack shall prepare and forward an assignment of said tax sale certificates to the successful bidder. Roll Call: Ayes – Melfi, Townes, Meneses, McAuliffe, Sasso NO. 343 OFFERED BY: MC AULIFFE SECONDED BY: MELFI ______________________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Hackensack has been advised that an emergency affecting the safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Hackensack and the general public when three catch basins collapsed at Atlantic Street and Railroad, Moore and Alley Way and Williams and Blauvelt Place were rendered inoperable; and WHEREAS, the Project Manager notified the City Manager setting forth the circumstances regarding the emergency; and WHEREAS, the governing body is satisfied that an emergency did exist and that immediate action was necessary to restore the aforementioned catch basins to full operation; and WHEREAS, the cost of the repairs was $10,200.00 which was a fair and reasonable quotation; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are available in account 6-01-44-903-901-28G, Purchase Order #152013; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hackensack that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 which authorizes the governing body to award contracts without benefit of public bidding in emergency situations and the vendor Kaycon Construction, 75A Voorhis Lane, Hackensack, New Jersey 07601, be paid therefore. Roll Call: Ayes - Melfi, Townes, Meneses, McAuliffe, Sasso NO. 345 OFFERED BY: MC AULIFFE SECONDED BY: MELFI ______________________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, the City of Hackensack requires the installation of special type light poles to be installed in Parking Lot D; and, WHEREAS, Public Service Electric and Gas Company is the sole producer of this type of light pole for Parking Lot D; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council to purchase this type of light pole for Parking Lot D; and WHEREAS, a certificate establishing that funds are available from Account No. C-05-60-X20-000-001 of the Capital Budget, Purchase Order #152028 in the amount of $24,816.00 has been issued by the Chief Financial Officer; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the purchase of nine light poles be awarded to Public Service Electric and Gas at the quoted price of $24,816.00. Inc. at the contract price; and WHEREAS, the City of Hackensack was notified that Slade Elevator Industries, Inc. has purchased Atlantic Elevator and has notified the City of Hackensack that the contract price received will remain in effect through the term of the contract; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hackensack that the name of the vendor of elevator maintenance be changed from Atlantic Elevator Co. Inc. to Slade Elevator Industries, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Hackensack that: (l) The Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Richard Malagiere, Esq., 407 Sette Drive, Paramus, New Jersey 07652 to perform the aforesaid services. (2) This contract is awarded pursuant to a fair and open process. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to retain a copy of the contract for public inspection and to publish a notice of this action once in the Record.
