Ryan Municipal Building PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION Meeting Notice/Agenda September 19, 2024 (Thursday) – 6:00 p.m. Hales Corners Village Hall (5635 S. New Berlin Road) Notice is hereby given that the Public Works Commission will meet at the above date, time, and place. Notice is given that a majority of the Village Board may attend this meeting to gather information about an agenda item over which they have decision-making responsibility. This would constitute a meeting of the Board per State ex rel. Badke v. Houte, DPW Project Manager Public: None 2.0 GENERAL BUSINESS 2.1 Approval of Minutes – June 20, 2024 o MacGillis motioned to approve the June 20th minutes, Riemer seconded the motion, and commission approved unanimously. 2.2 Public Comment - None 3.0 ADMINISTRATION REPORT 3.1 DPW Task Updates o Houte provided a verbal update on DPW Staff daily operations, issues, and response. No discussion was had by the Commission. 3.2 DPW Manager Updates  Wis-DNR Recycling Grant Application o Houte reported that the grant was submitted and received by the DNR  2025 Budget Preparation 1  o Houte indicated that the 2025 budget is currently working on it.  Vg Hall Elevator o Houte informed that the insurance claim for repair/replacement was denied.  Part-Time Employee Vacancy o Houte stated that the position has been posted.  Whitnall L.S. – Pump o Houte reported that one of the pump impellers was damaged by a foreign object and is still in service.  Garden Ct. L.S. – Ins Claim o Houte told the commission that a sewer back up claim has been submitted and turned over to the Village Insurance.  Sanitary Sewer Emergency Cleaning o Parkview o W. Forest Home o Easement  Sanitary Sewer 2025 Cleaning o Houte – The annual and scheduled 5 year cleaning schedule has been performed. 4.0 PROJECTS: 4.1 2024 Road Program – Update o Houte – provided a project schedule update. 4.2 Lory Ln. Lift Station – Update o Houte – Pre-construction meeting has been held and completion of project will be in 2026 4.3 Hales Happiness Water Main – Update o Houte – a project information meeting will be held on Sept. 25th and provided a summary of what the meeting information is to be provided. 4.4 Storm Water Utility Rate Analysis - 2025 o Houte – presented the proposed new storm sewer utility rate. o Postonik motioned to recommend to the Village Board to approve the new rate, Reimer seconded, and commission approved unanimously. 4.5 Electronic Recycling Proposal o Houte – presented the proposal. o Reimer motioned to recommend to the Village Board to approve the proposal, Fritz seconded, and commission approved unanimously. 4.6 Emergency Culvert Repair(s) o Houte – presented the repairs needed. 2 5.0 NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING – October 17, 2024 @ 6:00pm 6.0 ADJOURNMENT Steven Houte, Public Works Project Manager September 19, 2024 Note: Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities through appropriate aids and services by contacting the Clerk’s Office, 414-529-6161. 3
