Agenda
Hampton Electoral Board Meeting
June 05, 2024 10:00 a.m., Registrar’s Office
Present: Tom, Tara, Matt, Rebecca
Guests: Carl, Jim, Jacqueline
Meeting was called to order at 10:13 a.m.
June 18 Primary: More workers are needed for this primary. The assignments for
Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs are being finalized. Contacts are made to all the precinct
locations.
The question was asked about outside campaign workers using the restroom in the
precinct building. In the VEBA regional meeting it was stated that they cannot come
through the voting area to use the facilities.
Status of the HU Homecoming Parade – We’re still trying to get a meeting with the
appropriate people. Now that graduation is over they should be more available.
While with administrators from HU we will inquire as to their views and availability
of a location for a precinct on campus.
Could there be a satellite voting location on campus at HU? It would not be likely as
a satellite location would be for early voting, not Election Day.
Signatures for candidates for city offices must qualify on or by June 18th.
Do we need to make ADA visits to precincts? They could be done on June 18th
during the primary as EB members make their visits.
Ad Hoc committee report on precincts made by Carl. Actions requested were tabled
until more information is available regarding the HU situation.
Letter was sent to HCS Superintendent Dr. Raymond Haynes. Request was made for
schools to be closed on Primary day in 2028, among other things.
Our August meeting will be moved to August 8th as Tara has meetings on the 7th.
Training for OEs will be June 8th, 10:00 a.m. for “101”, and 2:00 p.m. for regular
training. Training for Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs will be June 10, 6:30 p.m.
