Reading/Approval of Minutes: Moved by Ms. Melvin-Jones and seconded by Mr. Newman to approve the minutes of the September 27, 2016, meeting as presented. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Report/Announcement: Mr. Boester stated he and Ms. Vander Vennet would be sending out notice of a special closed meeting to discuss elements relative to the Coliseum’s future. Mr. Boester reminded committee members that recommendations for new committee members needed to be submitted by November’s meeting and that candidates needed to fill out the city’s board application. Mr. Boester asked for the Director’s Report. Director’s Report: In the month of October 2016, the Coliseum will have had 8 event days and 8 performances and approx. 43,000 attendees including Crawling Crab 9/24-25/16(3 event days, 2 performances, 5K attendees), 92.1 The Beat Block Party (1 event day, 1 performance, 3k attendees) and Equipovision Convention (4 event days, 4 performances, 30k attendees) and HR Soul Music Festival (1 event day, 1 performance, 5k attendees). Events in October are 92.1 The Beat Block Party, Equipovision Convention and Hampton Roads Soul Festival. Upcoming events for November 2016 – Disney on Ice Nov. 23-27, 2016. Statement of Revenues and Expenses for the period ending 9/30/16 shows we are ahead compared to this same period 9/30/15. Hampton Arts update – Mr. Parison gave an update on the season performances and a brief description of the new marketing and promotional direction which includes direct mail, digital signage and TV advertising. Coliseum CIP project update – estimated EMV (credit card) project completion is anytime. We are waiting on Samsung to complete their programing changes. The Loge seats re-upholstery project – materials will be in beginning of December and install should be completed in January. Part 1 of the end riser repair has been awarded and the 2nd part will go to bid once specs are completed. Next potential projects being researched are I-64 Marquee, folding chair replacement, metal detectors and chiller replacement. 19-acre and 11-acre land update – presentation video on aquatics center available at Hampton.gov 1:00pm work session. Other Business: None. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 1:08PM. Next Meeting: Next Meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 12 noon at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
