Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting – June 26, 2018 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown ( ) Lynne Hutton ( ) Asa Jenrette ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman ( ) Donte Perry ( ) Samantha Snead ( ) Patricia Melochick (A) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) Mary Bunting ( ) Will Moore ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:12p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Motion made by Ms. Hutton to approve the minutes of the May 22, 2018 meeting. Mr. Perry seconded. The motion passed. Chair Report/Announcement: Chair Boester welcomed new member, Andrew Wilson ‘Dewey’, to the committee. A brief introduction to the purpose and function of the Advisory committee was shared. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet shared the event statistics for May. May ’18 had 4 event days with 3 performances with 12,947 in attendance. Upcoming events for June are Equipovision, NNPS Graduations, HCS Graduations, and Hampton Jazz Festival. Ms. Vander Vennet requested ideas for the 50th Anniversary, January 31, 2020 Celebration Gala. Other Business: City Manager, Mary Bunting gave an update on the City’s plan for the Coliseum Management and responded to questions regarding the 19 acre property in regards to the proposed Aquatics Center, the 11 acre parcel and additional surface parking around the Coliseum. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 1:06 p.m. Next Meeting: Next Meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 12 noon at the Embassy Suites.
