Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting – February 26, 2019 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown ( ) Asa Jenrette ( ) Matt Joyner ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman (A) Anne Rutherford ( ) Samantha Snead ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) William Moore ( ) Police Chief Sult ( ) 1st Sargent Brylewski ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:15p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Motion made by Ms. Rutherford to approve the minutes of the January 22, 2019 meeting. Mr. Jenrette seconded. The motion passed. Chair Report/Announcement: Chair Boester welcomed former committee member Ms. Hutton and her husband Judge Hutton. On behalf of the committee, Ms. Hutton was presented with a framed picture of the Coliseum and thanked for her 21 years of service. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed event statistics for the months of January and February, discussed future event bookings in the works, and reported that due to two large events this year, the Coliseum should end the year with a surplus. Other Business: No other business. New Business: Police Chief Sult and 1st Sargent Brylewski attended the meeting to enlighten the committee on how Hampton Police work with the Coliseum staff in event preparedness and security. Discussion centered around large events, such as Bassnectar and Phish. Information included Police security calls and the workings of the Command Center and coordination with Hampton Fire and private EMS service. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 1:05 p.m. Next Meeting: Next Meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 12 noon in The Grey Goose’s boardroom.
