Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – November 25, 2019 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown (A) Asa Jenrette ( ) Matt Joyner ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman ( ) Anne Rutherford ( ) Samantha Snead ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) William Moore ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:13 p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Motion was made by Mr. Newman to approve the Minutes from the October 22, 2019 meeting. Mr. Wilson seconded and the motion passed. Chair Report/Announcement: Nothing to report. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet shared the FY19 Financials had been audited and the department ended with good profit. Future events and event holds were discussed. The committee discussed the attendee entrance que at the recent Dead & Company show and recommendations for improvement. The committee recommended providing mobile lockers outside the venue for prohibited items since many use Uber and do not have a vehicle to put them in. Ms. Vander Vennet shared the Big South Collegiate Tournament Board decided to hold the tournament the next three years in Charlotte, NC due to its more central location to the participating schools. Updates were provided for the Chiller replacement and side riser replacement projects. Both projects are on schedule. Ms. Vander Vennet reminded the committee that they would not be meeting in December but they were invited to attend the Coliseum/Hampton Arts Holiday party on Wednesday December 11, at 5:30pm. Other Business: Mr. Newman gave an update of his work on pricing for concert artists Jim Pollack, AJ Masthay, and Bruce Horan for potential creation of a special concert poster for the anniversary. Mr. Horan is not interested. Mr. Masthay is interested and Mr. Newman will continue to work with the Director to create and agreement. Ms. Vander Vennet shared the 50th Anniversary Gala is planned for Saturday, September 26, 2020. Save the Date announcements will go out once the date is confirmed. New Business: No new business.
