Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – December 8, 2020 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown (A) Asa Jenrette ( ) Matt Joyner ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman ( ) Anne Rutherford ( ) Samantha Snead ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) Peter O’Donnell ( ) Benjamin Naidorf (A) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:00 p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Chair Boester reminded members that Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Newman’s service to the committee would conclude December 31, 2020 and having served two terms, they were not eligible for reappointment. Samantha Snead’s 1st term will also be concluding and she is recommended for appointment to a 2nd term. A letter was sent to Council with candidate recommendations and we are now waiting on information from Council as to who will be appointed. . Chair Report/Announcements: Chair Boester led a discussion on the status of live events by telling about a segment of CNBC, which the head of Live Nation Entertainment stated acts will start touring in 2021 in states with the least restrictions and 2022 will be a huge year for touring and attendance at live events. Concern was raised of how a tour such as Cirque would handle Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet gave an overview of the Coliseum’s current financial situation, the impact to retained earnings, and steps taken to reduce the FY21 shortage. Ms. Vander Vennet updated the committee on the event schedule, Governor’s capacity restrictions, and other COVID impacts. Other Business: New Business: Chair Boester expressed thanks to Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Newman for their service on the Advisory Committee. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 12:28 pm.
