Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – August 24, 2021 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown ( ) Asa Jenrette ( ) Matt Joyner ( ) Jay Lang (A) Dana Hubbard (A) Anne Rutherford ( ) Samantha Snead (A) Andrew Wilson (A) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) Benjamin Naidorf ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: Chair Boester called the meeting to order at 12:01pm. A motion was made by Ms. Rutherford to approve the Minutes from the April 27, 2021 meeting. Motion was seconded by Mr. Joyner. Chair Report/Announcements: Chair Boester welcomed members and reminded everyone that three member terms were ending and new members would be appointed by Council. New member candidates should apply to the Board Bank as soon as possible. Ms. Rutherford’s 1st term is ending and she is eligible reappointment. Mr. Boester and Mr. Brown are completing their 2nd terms and are not eligible for reappointment. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed the June Hampton High School Graduations, the July Sevendust outdoor concert held in the employee parking lot, and upcoming events through February 2022. Ms. Vander Vennet announced the Coliseum had received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) Star Facility Certification for cleaning and disinfection and an award of $4.9M from the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant. An overview was given of the Waterproofing Mitigation project which consists of replacing the brick pavers and water membrane on the ramps, resealing up-light fixtures, repair of miscellaneous water damage, and renovation of the dressing rooms. Other Business: Discussion of Council’s Commitment to Excellence for Boards, Commissions, and Committees.
