Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – September 28, 2021 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown ( ) Asa Jenrette ( ) Matt Joyner ( ) Jay Lang ( ) Dana Hubbard ( ) Anne Rutherford (A) Samantha Snead ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) Benjamin Naidorf (A) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: Chair Boester called the meeting to order at 12:00pm. A motion was made by Ms. Snead to approve the Minutes from the August 24, 2021 meeting. Motion was seconded by Mr. Lang. Chair Report/Announcements: Chair Boester reminded everyone that three member terms were ending and new members would be appointed by Council. New member candidates should apply to the Board Bank as soon as possible. Ms. Rutherford’s 1st term is ending and she is eligible reappointment. Mr. Boester and Mr. Brown are completing their 2nd terms and are not eligible for reappointment. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed the upcoming events through February 2022. Ms. Vander Vennet updated the committee on the status of the vacant positions of 2 assistant directors, 3 managers, 1 electrician, and 1 maintenance lead and the difficulty in finding qualified candidates and the Waterproofing Mitigation project. Also discussed were SVOG funds received and ARP funds for replacement of the scoreboard and ice floor. Ms. Vander Vennet announced that upon completion, the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex would fall under the Hampton Coliseum/Hampton Arts Department and a contract was being negotiated with a management company to oversee day-to-day operations.
