Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – November 22, 2022 Attending: Samantha Snead, Vice-Chair Asa Jenrette Matt Joyner Jay Lang Ryan Lowrie Andrew Wilson Bob Boester, Emeritus Terri Vander Vennet, Director Absent: Visitors: No visitors in attendance. Woody Newman, Chair Ben Naidorf, Legal Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:03 P.M. A motion was made by Mr. Lang to approve the October 25, 2022 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Jenrette and passed unanimously. Chair Report: Vice-Chairwoman Snead presided in Chairman Newman’s absence. Director Report: Ms. Vander Vennet provided drafts of the most recent drawing for the dressing room renovation project and the committee reviewed each of the proposed changes. The committee reviewed the Coliseum Capital Improvement Plan, which ranked projects according to being in progress, next to be scheduled, and future. A discussion ensued regarding the replacement of the arena ice floor. Discussion topics included business loss due to having no ice floor, potential displacement of current events when the floor is replaced, and future ice events. The Committee concluded that the ability to rent a portable ice floor for an event or purchase a portable ice floor for the building reduced the need to replace the ice floor and maintain the chiller plant. The Committee recommendation is to not replace the non-functioning ice floor and look into using the funds to paint the arena ceiling and interior. The Professional Box Lacrosse League Lease Agreement has been executed. Tickets will be available online Friday, November 25 – Sunday, November 28 and at the box office beginning Monday, November 28, 2022. Other Business: New Business: Coliseum Holiday Party Dec 8, 2022 @ 5:30pm in the Lobby. The Advisory Committee does not meet in December. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 1:07 P.M.
