Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – February 28, 2023 Attending: Woody Newman, Chair Samantha Sneed, Vice Chair Linda Curtis Lynne Hutton Asa Jenrette Matt Joyner Joyce Melvin-Jones Ryan Lowrie Andrew Wilson Bob Boester, Emeritus Terri Vander Vennet, Director Absent: Visitors: No visitors in attendance. Ben Naidorf, Legal Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:02 P.M. A motion was made by Ms. Hutton to approve the January 24, 2023 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Curtis and passed unanimously. Chair Report: No Report Director Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed past and upcoming events and announced Micah Garner had joined the team in January as the new Facilities Operations and Security Director. Also reported was that the Professional Box Lacrosse Association’s CEO, Brad Bryant, has a meeting scheduled in March with City Managers to discuss plans for the league moving forward and City support. Ms. Vander Vennet shared the successful Hampton Jazz Festival on sale and plans for the event returning. Ms. Snead discussed HRCC’s companion event 757 Extravaganza, and activities planned. Other Business: New Business: Committee discussed Richmond’s planned arena, potential impact to the Coliseum’s schedule, and actions that can be taken to mitigate loss of any business.
