Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – June 27, 2023 12:00 P.M. Attending: Lynne Hutton Asa Jenrette Matt Joyner Ryan Lowrie Joyce Melvin-Jones Woody Newman, Chair Ben Naidorf, Legal Patricia Melochick, Legal Terri Vander Vennet Absent: Visitors: Andrew Wilson Linda Curtis Samantha Snead Bob Boester, Emeritus Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:08 P.M. A motion was made by Ms. Hutton to approve the May 23, 2023 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Joyner and passed unanimously. Chair Report: No Report Director Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed past and upcoming events and gave an overview of the summer project schedule. Other Business: Ms. Melochick, City Attorney, provided information on the Coliseum’s trademark registrations, registering new marks, and the distinction between state and federal registrations in relation to product branding. Discussion also covered trademark license agreements. Discussion of product branding continued regarding the opportunity to create a Coliseum branded beer. Mr. Lowrie volunteered to gather information on Hampton’s craft breweries and their manufacturing (keg/can) and distribution capabilities.
