Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes April 23, 2024 12:00 PM Attending: Ryan Lowrie, Chair Linda Curtis, Vice Chair Matt Joyner Karen Scott Brad Young Andrew Wilson Bob Boester, Emeritus Charlie Gardner, Deputy Director Absent: Visitors: Lynne Hutton, Joyce Melvin-Jones, Woody Newman Jody Madaras, Hampton Arts Artistic Director Terri Vander Vennet, Director, Ben Naidorf, Legal Mayor, Donnie Tuck Councilman, Chris Bowman Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:02 PM by Chairman Lowrie. A motion was made by Ms. Curtis to approve the March 26, 2024 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Joyner and passed unanimously. Chair Report: Chairman Lowrie welcomed new committee members, Mayor Tuck, and Councilman Bowman. Mr. Boester led discussion on history of the committee. Chairman Lowrie had a brief discussion on ticket us and that a written policy would be forthcoming. Director Report: In the Director’s absence, Mr. Gardner gave an overview of past and upcoming events The extended rental agreement for a two-week rehearsal prior to the May 31 – June 1 Pretty Lights performance was highlighted and Mr. Gardner reviewed the booking process for the benefit of new members. A status update was provided on CIP projects. Other Business: Mr. Gardner shared the trademark usage agreement for the product branding project, will be ready for use once final approval is received from the Legal department. New Business: Committee was introduced to Jody Madaras, who recently joined the department as Artistic Director for the Hampton Arts Division. Mr. Madaras gave an overview of his past experience in the performing arts and shared his vision for the future ofHampton Arts. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 12:58 PM.
